Larry and Pam came to us with an outdated guest bathroom and a hummingbird mirror they loved. Pam wanted a nature-inspired retreat, something that felt like a lush forest without tipping into cabin kitsch. The mirror turned out to be the spark, not the plan.
The original sink sat in an awkward spot, and there was no room for the makeup vanity Pam wanted for visiting family. We moved the sink to the opposite wall, then borrowed square footage from a hallway coat closet to carve out a built-in vanity alcove. Same footprint, completely different function.
A marble mosaic floor grounds the room. The cabinetry is a muted green with slate undertones, paired with brass hardware and sculptural gold lighting. Textured terracotta wallpaper warms the vanity wall. The showstopper is a hand-tiled botanical mural above the tub, our elevated answer to that hummingbird mirror.
When Pam saw the finished room, she called it “a secret garden, only grown up.” The design went on to win [award name].
