How to Easily Transform Your Bathroom into a Spa
The bathroom is the most utilized room of the house, yet the most neglected when it comes to design. It must have all the utilitarian qualities of course, but what if it had spa amenities too?
If you are planning to remodel your bathroom soon, keep in mind that you don’t need a huge master bath to make it feel like a spa. Any single one of these elements I’m about to share with you can make your next bath renovation feel luxurious.
Freestanding soaking tub with air jets:
Earlier this year, I pitched a freestanding tub idea to a couple and the man of the house immediately thought of a claw foot tub, which is a bit outdated. Fortunately, these freestanding tubs are the next big trend in bathroom remodels, and they don’t look anything like claw foots.
Freestanding tubs come in many sizes, shapes, and price points. Read this blog post to get more information about the best freestanding tubs on the market.
Handheld shower nozzle:
Consider switching from a fixed shower head to a handheld sprayer to get the most out of your shower experience. Handheld sprayers make rinsing off much easier, and best of all, they can double as massagers. Read this blog to read about our field trip to the Delta/Brizo show room
Curbless with a linear drain:
Every new bathroom should be designed with a barrier-free or “curbless” shower. This makes your shower user-friendly for all ages. These curbless showers are generally installed with linear drains, which are easier to clean.
Tip: Use large-format tiles in your new shower. They result is less grout and are therefore much easier to clean.
Lighted mirror medicine cabinets:
Having the right lighting is the most important thing in your bathroom and those overhead light bars above the mirror are not doing you any favors. You need side lighting as well in order to properly apply makeup or shave.
Robern, a brand we love, offers medicine cabinets that not only have lighted mirrors but also feature audio capability, nightlights, concealed electrical outlets, USB ports, and mirror defoggers.
When a toilet can wash and dry your bum while you sit on a heated seat, then you’ve got the ultimate spa experience. Toto’s washlet raises its lid automatically when you enter the bathroom and emits a spray of deodorizer. Pampered much?
Lots of storage:
Most bathrooms are small, but that doesn’t change the fact that we need lots of storage. My favorite way to create more bathroom storage is with a roll out pantry, like what we did in this bathroom remodel. (This bathroom was a mere 5’ x 7’.)
Robern AM2430RFP – WALL MIRROR, 24X30, AIO I’ve already mentioned these mirrored medicine cabinets from Robern (pictured). This cabinet is so great because you can store your electric toothbrush and electric razor inside and plugged in to the interior electrical outlets.
