What Happens When We Give Ourselves a Makeover

The past year has been one of many changes at KTJ Design Co. We’ve revamped, remodeled, refreshed, and reflected on the many ways our brand has grown and the new ways we will be working with homeowners just like you.

We have a new store location.

In April, we moved from our Harding Way location and leased a new space at 404 N. Harrison Street. The progress of the renovation of the building is still underway. We anticipate occupying the space in January – February of 2019 (we’re currently working out of my home office and garage). Our new location is an old warehouse that backs up to the Stockton Ports Arena. It has lots of character and will be amazing when the renovation is completed.

We plan to make the new location more than a design studio by adding a boutique furniture store and design destination features. The new showroom will have more furniture vignettes for you to touch and feel. (In January, we are traveling to the Winter World Market in Las Vegas to hand select this year’s vignettes.)

You can expect quality household furniture, such as living room, dining room and bedroom furniture, upholstered furniture, coffee tables, sofa tables, end tables, sofas, love seats, chairs, bookshelves, ottomans, display cabinets, and media consoles.

We are offering more benefits for homeowners.

We will be hosting quarterly homeowner workshops in 2019. These workshops will include topics on how to design your own rooms (with scaled sketches) and how to design your own furniture pieces from style to fabric. Our vendors will be hosting workshops to talk about the largest technology in everything from lighting to plumbing, flooring, and more.

Since we are partnering with local artisans, we will also be offering classes for flower and wreath arrangement, art work selection, drapery and window coverings, and more. Our library of textile and rug samples will be greatly expanded and available for your use.

We have a new website.

Our website has been updated (which you probably noticed if you are reading this!). We pared down our service offerings to better serve our clients with the services they ask for most.

We have a clear mission.

KTJ Design Co.’s mission is to become the recognized leader in its targeted local market for interior design and decorating services. We have found that our clients like the personal touch and the ability to sit on and test out new furniture. The currently available furniture stores in Stockton are mostly limited to big box chain furniture store – not at all what our clients need.

  1. The benefits of purchasing from a local boutique furniture store when compared to a franchised corporation include:

  2. Uniqueness – chain stores offer mass produced and identical pieces, whereas a locally owned furniture store offers a break from uniformity and custom pieces tailored to your needs and wants.

  3. Quality assurance – local furniture stores use the highest quality materials available as each piece is made to order.

  4. Supporting local business – small business are what make this nation thrive.

  5. Value – although most individuals think it will be more expensive, products offered by our boutique furniture store will be of comparable price over quality.
