My Very Own “Physical Cliff”
This isn’t really design related, but it is a big part of my life and I wanted to share it.
I have been so busy working that I haven’t been attending my Bikram Yoga classes as regularly as I need to, so on December 1st I decided to give myself a little challenge – 25 classes in 30 days. I made a chart to keep track of my progress. I was listening to all the news about the “Fiscal Cliff” and it dawned on me, I am facing a “Physical Cliff” if I don’t get back to yoga class. Of course the conundrum that the U.S. government will face at the end of 2012 is a different story, but the concept of “going over the cliff” is very real to me.
In fact, the word “cliff” is not generally spoken in my household because it reminds us about my near fatal automobile accident in 2006 (where I fell 200 feet off a cliff). After two years of continuous physical and cognitive rehabilitation I discovered Bikram Yoga. It is the best therapy I need to keep my aches, pains and brain damage that I suffered under control. I just finished my 25th class this morning and didn’t “go over the cliff.”
This is a tessellation I drew in 2008. Can you see the yogis in Camel Posture?
This is what remained of my Porsche. It is hard for me to look at this picture, but I am facing my fears and saying “cliff” over and over and over.
